Cornwall is my favourite place in the whole world. I was lucky enough to grow up there, and although my childhood was less than desirable, the beautiful Cornish countryside always kept me sane. To this day, it remains my happy place. There’s so much to see and do and the variety of places to visit never ceases to amaze me.
Whether you’re looking for a romantic getaway, or a wonderful family holiday full of memories, Cornwall will certainly tick all your boxes.
Here are a few of my favourite places to visit in Cornwall. They’re listed in no particular order, mainly because it was too difficult to order them!
Land’s End
Nature, attractions, food, and stunning views – Land’s End has it all. No trip to Cornwall should be complete without a visit to Land’s End. Land’s End has a huge car park, so parking is rarely an issue, and there are lots of facilities. You’ll find a cafe, toilets, shops, stalls, entertainment, big play parks and so much more – but that’s only the beginning! Once you’ve explored the main area, there are a couple of beautiful scenic trails to explore, real life pirates to meet (silversmith Eddie Williams), and farm animals to say hello to.
Kynance Cove
It almost pains me to put this on the list because I love it so much, I don’t think I want to share it! However, it is the most beautiful and idyllic spot in Cornwall – in my opinion. The car park is quite small, so make sure you get there nice and early. The Lost Gardens of Heligan, nr. Mevagissey
At The Lost Gardens of Heligan, you’ll find over 200 acres of lost gardens to explore and discover. The gardens were once lost to a jungle of overgrown weeds thanks to the neglect the gardens suffered after WW1. The Lost Gardens of Heligan have been restored with boardwalks, rope bridges, and swings. There are also glorious gardens to wander, and, of course, those famous Heligan statues that are partly obscured by ivy and moss.
Tintagel Castle – Tintagel
With breathtaking views and a rich history, Tintagel Castle should definitely feature on your Cornish adventure bucket list. Famously linked to none other than King Arthur and his knights of the round table, Tintagel Castle is a place where adults and children alike can lose themselves to their imaginations. Explore the historic castle, follow in the steps of our famous medieval knights, cross the newly built bridge, hunt for treasure on the beach, and grab a lovely bite to eat in the cafe.
Note: steep climbs and sheer cliffs mean that this attraction is not accessible for everyone.
